Classes and Workshops
As an an artist, Ruby has taught hundreds of lessons in art to school aged children and adult art students for over 10 years. Art classes are offered in both guided and private art lessons taught in multiple mediums and subjects. See below for more details.
Please note that all in class lessons will be taught at The Pop Up Loft in Elk Grove, CA.
Class Registration
BEGINNER ART CLASS
(Ages 5-12)
This is an introductory art class that will focus on guided lessons where each student will learn multiple art mediums and styles of drawing, painting and sculpting. Beginner students will learn basic fundamentals of art as they follow along with each lesson, but are encouraged to add their own creative spin to their projects.
PRIVATE VIRTUAL LESSONS
(ages 8 and up)
Students will work one on one via Zoom with the instructor on building a portfolio of work in drawing and/or painting in the material or medium of their choice while focusing on developing their own individual artistic style.

ADVANCED/OPEN STUDIO DROP INS
(Ages 8-18)
Advanced and open studio students will work on individualized series works at their own pace with one on one guidance throughout each lesson. There is no requirement to attend advanced art class, however, students will be focusing on their own subjects and styles of interest while working independently.
PRIVATE IN STUDIO LESSONS
(ages 5 and up)
Students will work one on one in studio with the instructor on building a portfolio of work in drawing and/or painting in the material or medium of their choice while focusing on developing their own individual artistic style.
PRIVATE PAINT PARTIES AND WORKSHOPS
(ages 8 and up)
Small group workshops and paint parties for ages 8 and up focusing on a guided lesson in painting in watercolor, acrylic and/or oil paint. Scheduled paint parties and workshops are available will be scheduled with the artist by special request.

NOTE: *First time students, please register for classes on The Pop Up Loft Classes info page prior to purchasing a class: https://www.rubymichelle.com/thepopuploft Class rates are per student. Please register and submit payment prior to participating in a class. These are small group lessons focused on building artistic technique, knowledge and skills and space fills up fast. So, please register as soon as possible to secure your spot.
Supplies: Supplies will be provided for all in studio lessons. *First time students will receive a complimentary art supply gift with registration!
Duration of each lesson: 1hr. Please allow 5-10 minutes of additional clean up time on paint days.
Location: The Pop Up Loft
Schedule: (Schedule is subject to change. Please inquire regularly with the instructor for class scheduling and dates). All registered students will be provided with a monthly lesson schedule including special event dates and local art exhibitions/activities.
May Dates: 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27
Beginner Art Class - Mondays 5-6 pm
Beginner In-Studio Kids Class (Ages 5-12) - This is an introductory art class that will focus on learning multiple art mediums, techniques and styles of drawing, painting and sculpting. We will also touch on Art History and learn about local and contemporary Artists. All supplies will be provided for Beginner in studio students.
Advanced Art Class/Open Studio - Mondays 6-7 pm
Intermediate/Advanced/Open Studio Drop ins(Ages 8 and 18)/Open Studio - Advanced Students will work on individualized lessons at their own pace with one on one guidance while focusing on their own subjects and styles of interest. Supplies will be provided for Advanced In-Studio Students. Advanced students will create a portfolio of works and focus on a theme and style of their choice. Advanced students will also specialize in 1-3 art mediums and/or styles of drawing, painting or sculpting.
Open studio students will have unguided studio time to work on their art. They will provided with lesson themes and materials and occasional feedback while working independently on their art. Drop in rates upon request.
Minimum 5 student enrollment for advanced lesson schedule/Open Studio and Makeup lessons available upon request.
